LASIK commonly referred to as laser eye surgery or laser vision correction, is a type of refractive surgery for the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
The LASIK surgery is performed by an ophthalmologist who uses a laser or microkeratome to reshape the eye’s cornea in order to improve visual acuity.
For most people, LASIK provides a long-lasting alternative to eyeglasses or contact lenses.
The laser will removed some microns of the cornea according to the pre-operation refraction and post refraction target.
The treatment zone is shown in dark.
Centration of the treatment should be important
The white circle have always the following diameter : 3/5/7 mm
Cornea thickness decrease in the treatment zone. Laser will remove between 9-13 microns for 1 diopter.
The treatment zone is shown in dark. You could also see the pupil boundary: here in between the 3 to 5 mm white circle.
